I am a very new to quilting. I bought a quilt book and was able to patch together all of the blocks. But how do I do the designs on top? I am completely lost. If any of you have any pointers please let me know.

Thank you, Danielle

Well, I am assuming you are not using a longarm quilting machine right?LOL..if not, then to quilt your quilt, you will have to decide on a design, whether you are drawing your own on the top or using stencils. Then either hand quilt it or machine quilt it. Machine quilting is alot faster. LOL. Once you lightly draw your designs on your top, you will need to put your top, your batting and your bottom together, then pin them together (also one way known as basting) then if you are going to hand quilt it you will need a quilting frame, if not, then you can use your sewing machine and quilt it by sewing around the lines you drew. I hope I have helped you a little bit. Here are a couple of links with some information on quilting.
