I stopped in that shop while I was at the bar b que festival in August. IT is always, clean, neat, cheerfully stocked, decorated and operated. The fabrics are reasonably priced. NO, I do not know Eleanor burns, just a nice little shop.

I know OF Mrs Burns, but not personally, by the way. We were amazed at the great prices and helpfulness of the employee there.

I've been to the Eleanor Burn's shop in CA and didn't think it was that great. What is the difference between that one and the one in Paducah?

HAH, she is!!! I'd never thought of it like that but she really is. I met her last year in Paducah. She signed two books for me, I showed her a picture of the quilt I made for my daughter and she took time to really look at it and make some very nice comments. She's actually a very small lady, I was surprised at how short and little she really is. She was also very sweet. I plan to go back this year too.

That "throwing the scraps" really used to irritate me until I said something about it on here. Someone says that she uses them in the end and she also has them bagged up for sale. I guess when she first started she had a bag for scraps taped to her table and the sewing machine company didn't like it and made her get rid of it so she started throwing them over her shoulder.

She has great sales on line. Lots of 3 dollar a yard in her fabric frensy area.
If you have Direct TV her show is on the RFD channel.
Also lots of her shows on her website and on quilterstv

She did tell the story on one of her shows about the director telling her to get rid of the scrap bag and she started throwing them over her shoulder. Its her trade mark now.
The best thing about her is she is not greedy like a couple of other famous quilters that charge for watching there shows.

My guess would be that it is the people who actually run it. The lady in Paducah is charming, just like she has met a long lost friend.
