Dojo, I am excited for you! A friend of mine told me I should have kept the pansy quilt and entered it in the fair in Oct. But I gave it to me aunt instead. I don't feel like my work is good enough and I'd be too embarassed.

I’ve yet to experience the feeling with a quilt, but I did have something similar happen when I was sewing teddy bears. I gave one to a good friend once, and when I asked if he liked it the response was “The dog did.” It hurt the way he said it, and I’d never even consider doing a quilt for him.

Also, I don’t know about you all, but ‘after’ buying a nice piece (hand made object) at a yard sale, I always make it a point of asking where it came from. When I get the story of so and so made it for me, or my mom did it etc., I lay into them, usually saying “Don’t you know how much hard work and love went into this?” or “How could you let a family treasure go like this?” Usually, they just look at me like I’m a complete nut case. There loss, not mine!

Big quilter bear hug all round.

:? First one to please is yourself and if you can your family, I'm lucky my Family and friends do Love everything I make even though I haven't been at it that long. Some people are just plain Rude. I on the other hand try not to be rude or things like that.
