I just saw this tip on Fons and Porter but already use it myself.

Put a piece of Glad Press and Seal on the back of your ruler to keep it from slipping. It has a low tack like a sticky note.

It works for me. Hope this helps someone from the frustration.

Hmmm. I have some laying around, think I'll try it. Thanks for the tip.

What a great idea. I have had that problem and have been very frustrated. I have tried gluing pieces of sandpaper on my templates but have a hard time seeing through or around it. This is worth a try. Thank you for sharing.

Not to be a downer, but I think Glad Press & Seal has a residue that can get on my fabric. I have had several people tell me they think it does also.

I use the invisagrip that you buy by the roll. It is a little pricy. But not as much as replacing them with the new rulers that grip on thier own.

It might have a residue if the Glad Press & Seal is left on the fabric for a long time. This poster's suggestion is to use it on the back of a ruler for cutting, so it would only be on the fabric for a few seconds. I have used it on the back of templates as I fussy cut and it works great.
