Pfaff 2170 screen is acting up...

This morning I noticed that the screen on my well used machine was flickering and the left side was black with a line going through it sometimes. I thought maybe if I took the battery out and replace it it might Boot Up and correct itself. Anyone else have this problem? Not sure how to replace the battery. Somewhere I read to keep it plugged in while doing this....does that make sense? Thanks for any and all help. It's bazaar season!!! And I've got lots of cute things to sew!

The only thing I can tell you is don't use the machine in direct sunlight. That really messes up computerized machines.

I should add that it is swing fine and screen goes back to normal now and then.

2170 does not have a battery. Unfortunately, the screen could be going. With any luck, it could just be a connection.
The other contribution could be heat - not sunlight. Does the machine feel like it's getting hotter than usual?

Your board might be on it's last leg. I would take it in quickly for servicing.
A Good Friend, like an old quilt, is both a Treasure and a Comfort
