PRINTED TREASURES sheets are the way I'd go to reproduce the photos. They are treated poplin that is sewable. Plan the size of photos, create a photo collage of photos that size that will fit on a sheet. print a test run on paper then print on the printed treasures sheet. Follow directions carefully.

Printed Treasures work great. You can also get a liquid to prep your own fabric for the printer. You have to cut it carefully and back it with freezer paper. BUT if you are going to do alot of photos, it will save you $. For larger pictures, try www.fotosonfabric.com She can print up to like 50 inches. I did a police quilt and sent her the jpeg file for a picture of a police patch. I wanted it for a medallion and larger than a piece of typing paper. The fabric had a nice hand and the colors were good. I think it was around 15 X18 and my medallion was 12 inches in diameter. I believe she can print more than one picture on a piece of fabric to save you $. She charged me $10 plue $1 for shipping. Not affiliated with the company, just a happy customer.

Personally if I were doing this I would have my photos printed by a professional. The fotosonfabric looks cool for bigger items, I know that we have a shop here www.threadsthatbindoftexas.com (not affiliated) and she prints out the photos onto fabric just like the on the t-shirts. I was in there recently and saw them doing that and decided next time I need some that is what I will do. You could probably even find a t-shirt place near you that might do it.
If you are going to do it yourself - I have had pretty good results with Printed Treasures. If you are wanting to treat your own fabric check out Caryl Bryer-Fallerts website at www.bryerpatch.com she has a lot of information.

Several years ago, I made graduation quilts for grandchildren. A local printing company did the printing on my yardage. The quilts are still being laundered today and the pictures are still fine. The color has faded a little, but so has the color of the fabric in the quilt.

I did one for my daughter's graduation several years ago. Used the Printed Treasures sheets. I would have thought they would have a better system. I used my home computer to print. Pictures were her individual school pics from K-12. I don't think she's used it much, so it hasn't been washed a lot. She graduated HS in 2002.
