Not sure what you mean by the uneven size blocks. I take it you don't know the name of the quilt? I agree with the earlier poster - you could google images. Type in what you're looking for in Google, then add the word "image" to the end of the phrase. Or, type what you're looking for, hit enter, then click "images" at the upper left corner of the page.

Here is an example of one I made. There are a lot of patterns, but I often use ads for inspiration.

Define "Japanese style quilt", please. Do you mean those made with Japanese print fabrics, Japanese taupes, images of a Japanese theme, Sashiko quilting, strong geometrics of Japanese design...?

My edit time ran out... Anyway, a Google image search for 'Japanese appliqué quilt patterns' will result in 27.5 million images, many of which are the format of the one pictured above (and that one is on the first page). Watch out where they are being sold, however, because the three I selected to show you were from Singapore, Sussex (UK), and somewhere in Australia. Good luck.

try hoffman free patterns----you could use multiples of 6 1/2 inch blocks 6 inch finished---ieg 6x6---6x12---12x12--18x6---etc as long as you plan on paper and use the same width sashings through out--if you want to use a panel add to it untill you get the size to fit
