I thought of all you vintage machine lovers on Sat. We went to an estate sale and there was a very old Singer w/cabinet waiting for someone to take it home. The price was "make us an offer" - I didn't, but was thinking that maybe one of you would have found a treasure if you had seen it!

Oh no, you might have gotten it for only $5 or so.
I love them but I don't buy the cabinet ones anymore. After 12 or so the house starts filling up. I'm serious.

I agree, I have 6 vintage machines, 4 of which are in cabinets. But if I see the right thing???

I have two and need to get rid of them as we are going to sell the house maybe next spring. I love the treadles and have a Singer from the 40's that is portable. sad to get rid of them but we will be living in a RV and no room.

Guess we have the" Collecting Bug" Have to stop as I have 5 or 6 and definitely no room for more unless I start throwing out furniture. Hubby will throw me out soon if it doesn't stop. I promise , no more machines. If we go to a condo ( don't really want to ) I'll be lucky if I can keep one, not to mention all that goes with it ie: fabric, tools magazines etc.
