I always made the canning jar ones when I did craft shows sold alot of them

We made these to sell one year and instead of cotton balls, we put brillo soap pads in them so that they sharpened the pins and needles when you inserted them in the pin cushion part.

How do you stop the brillo pads from ripping thru the fabric ? I would think they would be harsh on the fabric

yes I just made a bunch and let me tell you - you need to make the top fabric circle BIGGER than they say and don't use the glue to close to the edge of the top otherwise the jars won't close again ... ask me how I know LOL

I made one for the pincushion swap, can't remember off hand where I found the pattern though. Very simple to put one together though. I love being able to put something extra in the jar.
