I'm glad you posted the picture. I would go ahead and try the Synthrapol, but don't worry about it if there's still a little pink. It's an awesome quilt, and the very small amount of pinkish white will not be noticed by your grandson or anyone else but you.

It looks good to go to me. Only someone you have asked might possibly perhaps maybe see any pink. No one else would give it a second thought, nor should you. It looks great! Wonderful quilt!

I have yet to use the Synthrapol but I have thrown a couple white cotton towels along with the color catchers. The towels help a lot. I do need to get the Synthrapol.

However, Synthrapol does require hot water (and a LOT of it!) to work. Be aware that domestic front loaders do not use enough water. A domestic top loader is fine, and is a laundromat's large front loader.

After looking at your photo, I think it looks great since the yellow helps to camo any red. Give it to him. He'll be pleased.

I am sure that your grandson will love the subject matter more and not notice the pink so much. By the time it has been in the dorm and gotten dirty, but kept him warm and loved, all will be fine.

You did a wonderful job and the quilting is exquisite. Go Iowa State!

It looks fantastic to me, don't worry, remember Elvis loved pink, however; it did not look pink to me. A red item once got in the wash with all my white towels and they turned pink. I decided to use them anyway and with repeated washings, they are white again. Be proud of your work, he will love it!!

I recently had this problem with a quilt that had been washed before. One of my whites turned pink. I had good luck using color catchers with OxyClean. It took 2 washes but the pink came out.

It looks white to me. Looks great all over ! I'm guessing that a college guy won't wash it...lol ... But is the red color likely to run again if he washes it? If it does, then he would be disappointed and maybe afraid to tell you. Wouldn't it be funny if you both kept the "secret" from each other?

I think it looks fine and I really like the quilt! I haven't used this idea, but Kim Bruner has on her blog page a suggestion on using the original Dawn dish detergent on this problem.
