Default Pittsburgh fabric shop

I visited Pittsburgh last week and visited a shop called Loom, in the Strip district. I was really disappointed in that the web site talked about how much fabric they had, but there was not that much on the shelves for quilting. There was a lot of upholstery and outdoor fabrics, however. The good news - fat quarters were $1 each and if I found one I liked and they had yardage, the fabric was $4 per yard. Needless to say, I did indulge and came away with 4 yards of a camel color I was looking for and 10 fat quarters, among other fabrics.

Now on to Philadelphia. We are staying with friends and I asked about quilt shops. My friend now is noticing them so I can do some more shopping!!!!

Yeah, quilters sometimes forget that there are other fabrics besides quilting cottons!

When you make it to Philly, if you are only looking for quilting fabrics DO NOT waste your time with 'Fabric Row' in Phila. Lots of wonderful garment and upholstery fabrics and trims but not enough quilting fabrics to waste your time.
