Ladies,
I am relatively new to quilting, and have decided that I hate the binding process. Mine doesn't look good. I don't know if I am being overly critical or if it is just really is bad, and I suppose other than quilt books, I don't know the way the back of the binding should look. Would some of you ladies mind posting some close up pictures of your binding, and some corners too please. Thanks!

Alicia ~
Watch this video. Made all the difference in my bindings. I used to HATE to bind a quilt and would put it off and put it off. Now ~ I can't get a quilt done quick enough so I can bind it.
Hope this helps you.

Sharon Schamber without a doubt is the masterquilter of our time. Did you notice at the end of the video that she said when she does binding for her show quilts, it has a much more complicated stitch then what she shows on the video? How can what she is showing be more perfect?

I'm in the process of binding one right now...I sew the folded binding strip to the front, then flip it over to the back and hand sew it down. I don't mind doing it at all...I do it in front of the tube at night. Good luck...keep practicing and yours will look great in no time!
Here's how it looks on the front, you can see where part of it isn't flipped over and sewn yet

Here is how it looks just sewn on the front prior to flipping over

Here is where I started in the corner..on the back you fold the fabric into a mitered corner

I use Elmers and love it.
Someone on the board said Joanns has the metal tips but they are not where you think. I looked for them but could not find them.
I ended up ordering them from Sharons site.
Should have asked someone at Joanns.
