Has anyone made a table cloth? I'm working on a Thanksgiving tablecloth. Center piece is 15x20 with two borders. then I plan to do 6" squares to fill out the rest of the cloth. Table size is 42 x 108.
Started out a good idea but I'm having trouble making the sides fit without having to have half and quarter square on the corners.

draw it out on graph paper, you can print off free graph paper on line. it makes it easier to figure out block sizes, just remember you have to add seam allowances to ever piece. i made a large table cloth for my daughter a few years ago...was not my favorite project, but she loves it, it is what she wanted.

Thanks. I got the idea, cut the fabric sewed the strips and NOW I'm trying to make it fit! got my 'firsts' mixed up. My daughter has told me many time she doesnt' quilt because there is too much math. I always reply, "What math? It's just trial and error."

Here are the 'so far' pictures. First as planned and did not fit. My grand daughter was looking at it with me and suggested the extra border so second picture is the revised edition. Just layed together on the dining room table. The center is pilgrims, turkeys and pumpkins. small border is cornicopia--remnants at JoAnn's . Rest is stash and JoAnn's. This is a WIP. HOpe to have it finished by Thanksgiving. Plan to back it with Christmas fabric. One tablecloth two holidays.

    As planned--does not fit.

Revised edition one inch border and now it fits.
