Default Polyester thread from Connecting Threads

Does anyone use this thread for piecing? I use their cotton thread for quilting, but I haven't tried their polyester thread before. I did buy 2 spools to try, it was on sale. I noticed on the label it says it is made in China. I thought all their thread was made in the USA.

Hardly anything anymore is made in the USA. I have never been a fan of Poly thread but I guess they have improved it since the 80s. Make a mug rug or a block and see if you piecing comes out accurate.

I have some of their polyester thread but have only used it for quilting. Its quite strong too so if you're getting a lot of breakage while quilting, this is the way to go. I have all their types in most all the colors too. Lets just say I like their products. I have most all their personal collection of fabrics. Just bought 2 bolts of the cream Mirage fabric as I seem to use it a lot for backgrounds. Starches up well.

I use it for piecing all the time. It holds up nicely. I also use it for quilting and it is fine most of the time. However, I apparently got two spools of white thread that came from a bad batch, which had lots of thread clumps in it. That made it very difficult to use. One of these days, I'll call CT to see if they will 'make it good".

Having said that, I have used the CT polyesters in many quilts with absolutely no problems - except for the ususal pilot errors.
