didn't think to use this in our home but now I live in a apartmentYou can't do some things but this would work anyplace. we use those 3M temporary hooks that aren't suppose to damage the wall. we Put them almost to the ceiling just in case i made a really long quilt,. we had to use the hallway as it was the only place that didn't have many obstacles and it seems to work. I have many more quilts that i want to photograph and date.

Nice idea, but hallways are pretty narrow....how do you get a good overall look at your layout

my new home has a nice hallway to my bedroom that would work perfectly for a design wall. haven't gotten around to making it yet

we have a large archway that takes up half the wall space from the hallway so we were able to use that space

I took a vinyl tablecloth (flannel backing) and sewed a channel into the short side. Slid a closet pole into it and tossed the pole over a set of bookcases. The weight of the pole holds it nicely and two tablecloths makes a very large design wall. One holds a twin and most of a queen sized it you do not need it all on the wall at a time.

I roll it up and pin it when I want to go thru the books.
