The pattern that I have says to cut the fabric 10" x 22". Since I wanted to make 2 I thought that it would be cheaper to buy a 1/2 yd. But my fabric is 18" x 42".
So do you think that if I were to shorten it from 22" to 21" would make a big difference?

I don't think 1" is going to make any difference at all. Go for it :D :D :D

It will shorten the bag by only 1/2 inch. Use it, you will never notice the difference.
