Hi, I just purchased a Grace Start Right frame and a Juki TL98Q.
it will be a while yet before it gets set up because it involves moving to a larger sewing room :) . My question is once its set up and I can practice practice and more practice quilting do I have to use batting whan I'm only practicing? I was also thinking of using old sheets to practice on. Is there any reason I shouldn't? Thanks for any info.

I would practice with batting so you are getting the feel of a real quilt, and working with the real tension of a quilt. I do sometimes practice with fleece, and then donate the blankies.

I would use batting too, other wise you may find that when you start on a quilt, it may not come out the same :D:D:D
