I have some Christmas fabric - I think 3 or 4 different patterns in dark reds, greens, golds, and then there is some light blue in it - that I want to get started on... I want/need something pretty simple that will go together fairly quick. Ideas? Oh, and free is ideal b/c I need to save my quilting budget for other projects :) I like star type blocks, but not sure what else might be out there to try. I would like the finished project to be lap/throw size for the couch. TIA!

    I'm a big fan of D9P....
Log Cabin could be nice as well.

Quilterscache.com has a nice Starflower pattern - it is a 12 inch finished block that works up quickly.

I'll check there. I really like some of them, but sometimes I have a hard time visualizing what they look like as a quilt... I really like the ones that have the real life examples, but not all of them do (not a full quilt anyway).
