I always pre-wash before I put anything in my stash - it's my comfort level. I know many people who do not pre-wash and they have never had a problem.

I would not prewash quilted fabric, but I know many would.

I am an avid prewasher , but in the case of pre-quilted .. I problably would not. But it would depend on how I was planning to use the fabric and what colors are in the fabric. I would definatley pre- test for any running or bleeding.

I typically do not pre-wash. Occasionally I will test a red fabric to see if it is color fast.
1.cut off a corner - place in cup of hot water and agitate. check for color change in water
2.rub a dry piece against a white paper towel to check for crocking (transfer of color from one fabric to another)
3.then I will test the same piece wet against a white paper towel.

I don't prewash. Cut and sew was how I was trained.

a simple prewash will help to prevent any issues with washing later....it takes very little time and can save so much time and money!....PS - I never starch until ready to cut and sew.

I only prewash flannel. But if i use red i test it first. I do not prewash jelly rolls or fat quarters. I use synthropal n color catchers when finished. Never a problem yet.

It's kind of like asking what came first, the chicken or the egg.

Prewash everything. Just because this is already quilted does not mean it can't shrink or run.
