This is a big thank you to all of you who make and donate quilts to hospitals. My grandson came 4 weeks early and was in the neonatal unit for a week. The hospital gave him a special quilt when he was discharged. My daughter will always treasure it. By the way our new grandbaby is doing fine and I am so excited to meet him. I am new to quilting but hope I can pay it forward by making some quilts to donate too ♥ Thank you

Congratulations on your new grandson, our 1st granddaughter also was born 4 wks early and spent a week in hospital before coming home, that was 2 yrs ago and she hasn't looked back since. Have fun with that new grandbaby and thanks for paying it forward by making more quilts for those who's start to life is a little rough.

I belong to 4 guilds and a quilt retreat committee.
All of these groups make and donate to charities. From the local nursing homes, to returning wounded veterans, battered women's shelters, library fund raisers to making angel and premie quilts and pillow cases for Conkerr cancer, as well as donating quilts to hospice.

I find that very nearly every quilter is generous and does the best work possible and has a loving and giving heart.

I wish the best for your little one, glad his Mom loves the quilt. She knows it was made with love.

Just started making baby quilts and caps (knitted) for our local hospital. It's so good to know these items are really going to families who will use them...and cherish them (a bonus)!

Congratulations on the new grandson. Glad he is home and doing well. Best wishes to him and his family.

To add my 2 cents to what Pam said - I too find that quilters are the most caring, generous of people. I also find that gardeners are too. Interesting, I think.

Among other things, I make flannel receiving blankets and knit/crochet hats for a local hospital in need and it gives me such a good feeling to know that a baby who might have nothing to go home in can at least be wrapped in a blanket with a little hat on it's head for warmth. I think just about everyone on this board does charity work in one form or another and I'm proud to be one of you! If anyone is looking for knit/crochet patterns, try bevscountrycottage.com. She has hundreds for free.

So glad your grandson is ok. My twin nieces arrived 5 weeks early and each went home with a quilt also. There are alot of generous hearts in the quilting world.
