This is the only thread I use. I never have a problem with breakage or linting and love that it comes in color-coordinated sets or individually. They've just introduced some new colors too which are all gorgeous. The bargain price may give you reason to doubt the quality but you will be very pleasantly surprised once you try it :)

I sew with a lot of black fabrics, so I was going thru a whole spool or more for piecing and quilting one wall quilt. I then decided instead of using a spool from my LQS, I'd get a cone from Connecting Threads. I bought black and several tans (for when I'm piecing other colors besides black). It'll be a long time before I'll need to replenish thread for piecing. I also have several of their sets of spools, got them on sale and I really like the colors.

Another needle to try is a Topstitch size 14. Schmetz makes them and they do come in other sizes (12 & 16), but the 14 should work with just about any thread you'd want to use. I used the 14 for a thick 1000 denier silk thread on my last quilt and it worked wonderfully.

I have bought & liked several sets of this thread. Use it for both piecing & quilting. Works well in my 20 year old New Home.

I love Connecting Threads thread!! I've used it for several years now and think it's the best thing going!! I have lots of colors, I use it for piecing and quilting (and some regular sewing as well). I never find knots, and it doesn't lint up my machine like other threads do.. It's great thread for a great price! If you need thread, now is the time to order!
