I'm wanting to have "Rosie" gussied up. I looked at a couple of places on the net that refurbished old machines, but would like to see who ya'll may have used. I live in the Dallas Ft Worth area and thought there might be someone in my area I can use. I appreciate any information and suggestions.

thanks

Are you thinking about repainting? I have seen the red and pink ones. My DH did mine, kind of like a car, needed wax, oiling, and a new belt. She sparkles now........he did a good job. Something like that, you can do it yourself........calla

I painted one of mine with a color shifting auto paint. Its deep emerald green at one angle and deep purple from another. I did it myself with auto paint.... Alot of sanding.. priming... spraying... and clear coat. She's beautiful and my husband bought her for my 55th birthday.

Check out Billy aka Lostin51.
He does custom paint jobs on sewing machines. He uses auto paint and can even put new decals on the machines as well. I believe he has pics availiable to see his work.

Billy is having some pretty hefty medical issues right now so he may or may not answer.

Look for the thread about Vintage Machine Shop - or something like that. You can go through the many, many, many pages and find some pictures of machines that Billy has worked on. When he is feeling more like his self, I am going to send my Singer Red Eye to him to work on.
