Our 24 member guild met Monday evening and had a rummage sale of fabric, books, patterns, notions, etc. Each member had marked her own items and 5% of the total went to the general fund for the guild. There were even some free items to share :)
For the most part, prices were very reasonable and our members could "look" but not purchase until 6:30 pm. An hour later, guests from another guild were welcomed to shop. From my viewpoint, there were several happy shoppers and sellers. I shopped for neutrals for background and found a few. However ---- drumroll, I did purchase several bags of so-called scraps of quilt shop quality fabric from one lady. Scrap type quilts are my favorite so I am on cloud 9 with my new collection. The scraps were large and I will have many delightful hours auditioning color combinations. Piecefully yours, Kay |

Our guild (large suburban area - over 250 members) is having a garage sale this weekend - can't wait! It's just a fund raiser and not restricted to quilting things, but I'll bet there will be plenty of that.

Cool!
My DIL does that with her friends - only its clothes they no longer wear. Fortunately, they are all about the same size & like each others taste in clothing. Mandy comes over wearing all "new" clothes from the swap. |
