Tylon is the same fabric used on Ty Beanie Babies. I felt this fabric on the bolt, today, at a local quilt store but they only had them in baby colors. Does anyone know where I can buy Tylon or something that is similar to it? I think it's a luxurious fabric and it is certainly beautiful used as a backing on quilts. I've googled it, and have not managed to come up with any good results.
Thanks for your help! |
OK.....I'm really bad at posting something, and then finding out the answer almost immediately soon after.
I found the fabric. It's called "Minky Chenille". It is gorgeous when it's quilted. The backing looks like it's embossed. Gorgeous! Anyways, I managed to find an online source for the 'velvet' minky chenille that I was looking for. Anyway, sorry to bother your ladies! Have a good night! |
Well - - where is it?
|
LOL! I felt it yesterday and I think you don't need batting between the chenille and your quilt top. It's thick enough and certainly will be warm enough.
Here is the site: http://www.chenillemagic.com/ |
Good price on the minky...what I've seen in the LQS was 25. a yd.
|
Minkee: My shop which is now gone charged $16/yd. for Minkee. I ck'd shipping cost from the website & 2 yds. would cost me over $40. Won't pay that.

You can also try Fabric.com. They sell Minky.

Oooo they have a giraffe minky that I have been looking for and the shipping is only $8.95 on 1.5 yards too :D:D:D
Thank you so much for sharing this site :D:D:D |
Shipping to my address is $9... two yards. Total less than $40. I guess it just depends on your address.
