15 Fabrics for my Trip Around the World quilt--HELP!
I started off with 24 beautiful fabrics and "narrowed" it down to 15 fabrics for my Trip Around the World. I need to make a large queen. I am thinking that the block size will be either 2.5 - 3 inches. Is this possible? I did a search online as well as own Quilt In A Day books and the most fabrics they use in a quilt are 10. Help? Advice, please?

1/2 0f 100 (100x100 quilt) is 50", so you need 25 2" blocks to go from the center to the bottom and another 50" from the center to the top, so you are fine with 2 1/2" squares. You would need 20 2 1/2" blocks, so the 3" squares would be okay, too. If you go to 3 1/2" squares which is a 3" block, you can still use all your fabrics, but you won't see much of the some of them as there is only one repeat. I bet a TATW has an uneven # of blocks so one comes out centered, but this answers your question. I hope you are strip piecing it.

I have made several bargellos using 20 fabrics and one Trip Around the World using 24 different ones. The bargellos are Queen and the TAW is a King.

Ive mad trips with as little as seven, and if you are going that small, twenty i think, would be fine

I used 20 for the bargellos. It isn't so much how many fabrics as it is the size you cut them. I used strips ranging from 1 inch wide to 2-1/2 wide. I attended a class for my first one, but once I got the premise, I did then on my own. I must say that they were a lot of fun.
