After seeing some of the pictures of flowers you are making for Baltimore quilts, it reminded me of a question that I have. I made a grandmothers garden (from Eleanor Burnes book) about 8 years ago. It has all the flowers that stick out on it (really pretty). Needless to say it is still not quilted. Can I roll this somehow to quilt it on my longarm...I am not a handquilter!? I have only done pantos so far. Should I wait til I get more experience at free motion? My mom made one also but she handquilted hers and won best of show in a quilt show. She has a very hard time now with her hands(80yo) or she would quilt it for me. Could use any suggestions as I would really like to finish this. Thanks.

Just me, but if I had a new longarm, I would wait until I was fairly proficient with it before working on a quilt that has so many hours of hand work in it. You're going to want the quilting to be really special, right?

I might quilt a couple of sheets with the blocks drawn on the top or photocopies pinned to the top or something. Anything where you can get the feel of accentuating the blocks and flowing in between them. :)

I like that book and the option to add dimension to the flowers. :)
