Received 3 more Quilt 4 Kids kits today, after I mailed my first finished one back last week & requested another one. These are 2 for girls & 1 for boys so I'm really excited. I have a friend's twin sized quilt all sandwiched & ready to FMQ, then will get onto these 3 new kits soon. I'm one who has to have 6 or 7 projects going or I don't finish anything...anyone else like that???

I always have several projects going. If I get stuck or lose interest for a time, I move on. Of if an occasion comes up I need a gift for. I have 2 quilts for kids kits myself to make. This time I got girly fabric. Last time was for boys.

I used to finish one quilt before I started another. I don't know what happened but now I have lots of quilt tops and need to get busy quilting them. Oh well, I'm having fun.

Those quilts are such fun to make!! So bright and cheerful! My first was sort of unisex but the last 2 were very feminine. I'm just finishing the quilting on the last one and will try to get them mailed tomorrow. Since I can mail 2 for the same price as one, I ask for 2 at a time.
I always have a lot of projects going at one time...also have a lot of UFO's. But they all get done eventually...mostly. There always seems to be exciting waiting to be tried.

I have one quilt 4 kids kit that is pieced and have started the quilting on, am planning on making one from my stash and will request another kit when I send in these two. I also have a baby quilt in flannel (quilt as you go), and am starting a quilt for my FIL that I got the fabric for just before Christmas....I also work on several things at once. When I get bored with one, I can go to another.

I am currently working on my first Quilt for Kid and seriously doubt whether I will do another. I don't know who does the fabric cutting for these kits but there is a need for some serious re-education. Not one of the 6 1/2 squares was square or 6 1/2 inches. The 2 3 1/2 strips were not accurate and wonky. The fabric was a good quality Robert Kaufman however. I had to spend much of my quilting time resizing the pattern and recutting all the fabric. Is this a frequent occurance or a fluke?

I have several projects going on at once too usually. I like to sew a while, then do a bunch of pressing, then sew again, then press again. You get the idea. My iron shuts itself off, plus I don't like to leave it on because of the nosy cats so it's much easier to just do a bunch of pressing all at once.

Gee, it would be really good to know if others are having similar issues. I was looking forward to participating in this in the next several months. I'm new to this craft (to have garment sewing experience) and the quality of my piecing is very good (not bragging, I'm just fussy). But I don't have the experience to resize a pattern if the fabric is off. :-(
