but now what? I'd like to make a twin size so I need to double the size from the 64 and sash. What kind of design? I'm at a total loss. It was a great way to use us my scrape bin.

Here is one I did recently if you want to look at the layout. I used dryer sheets too & backed it in flannel.

wow- I need to learn how to size my photos!

Dryer sheets????

dasmith2 10-25-2010 10:33 AM

yes please tell about the dryer sheets??

Maggiemay 10-25-2010 10:49 AM

You foundation piece onto dryer sheets, like you would for muslin or any foundation. I cut my used dryer sheets into squares, sew my strips onto it, then square the block. I started from the center of the dryer sheet & laid down a strip then sewed a strip onto it, pressed, sewed another one down, etc. No need to remove the foundation. So each of the 4 squares in the blocks of my quilt pictured are sewn onto 1 dryer sheet. I hope that makes sense! I think I heard of the technique from The Quilter's Cache.

that's beautiful. Just wish I'd sewed them on a diagonal instead of straight.

I don't know if this is a pattern but I played around some with the blocks last night and came up with this 25" block. Is that just totally wrong in quilt land to have a square that big?
