Do you know of an 8" star block pattern on line? I can find patterns, but they print small & my Mac won't double the size.Need a pattern I can print that is already the right size. TIA

Thank you, but the PP patterns are 1/2 size when printed on my Mac.A book I have has patterns for 7" 10" & 12....no 8.

Plainpat - check your printer settings and make sure they are set to print at 100%. Some default settings reduce the size to fit on the paper.

Yes, my default is set on 100%, but it prints at 50% of whatever PP pattern is shown.Quilter's Cache says Apple products need to print at 97%....don't understand that, but there's lots I don't understand :-(

save as PDF

Yes, I saved the PDF...bit really prefer to have it on paper. Will ask son in law...he's the puter expert in the family.

A pattern that is given in PDF format should print at actual size on a MAC if the scaling on your printer is set at 'none'.

Sometimes they won't print out at the right size, so what I do if it's just a little smaller, I'll draft the pattern out to the correct size, or I'll take the pattern to a commercial copy place and have them enlarge it, little by little.

I would take it to a print shop and have them do it.

When you get a pattern from quilterscache you need to save it as a PDF before you print it when using a MAC.

when you hit 'command print' in the bottom left side you should see a ? PDF Preview Cancel Print

click on PDF & scroll down to 'save as PDF' This will put the pattern on your desktop. (Cancel this print option.) Go to the desktop and open the PDF file you saved of the pattern. Hit 'command print' & then print. It should be the correct size now.

Hope this is clear - if not maybe SIL can translate.
