Ok... so call me a dummy when it comes to posts and the abbreviations people use. I don't twitter or use face book. I finally just figured out what "LQS" meant. I thought maybe we could help others out by posting some popular abbreviations here and what they mean.

For instance: LQS I think means Local Quilt store

I see DD posted all the time and don't know what that one means.

I do know what LOL means and some are going to be doing that when they read this for sure!

Help!!

I too am abbreviation challenged.

Please share for us that are unaware.

What is a One block wonder? I have never heard of that?!?

jljack 01-22-2010 11:36 AM

What does IMHO mean? I have seen it several times, but ..... ???????

Marjpf 01-22-2010 11:40 AM

There is a book out there called "One Block Wonders" there is also a follow up book. Both are inspiring to look through.

Ok guys what does UFO stand for? Why would it not be UFP (unfinished projects)?

ajpadilla 05-26-2010 06:47 AM

If it's any help, I compiled a list of acronyms/terms and posted it on my website as a pdf file. You're welcome to download it, if you like:

JUST A WORD OF CAUTION: I came across this thread Wednesday evening because I have been having a few problems with acronyms, too. I went to ajpadilla's website and made a copy of the pdf file referenced in the above post. When I closed out of that site my computer went BALLISTIC, saying I had an infection and a strange antispyware program (not the one I use) popped up to 'clean up the infection' (which I knew to X out of), but it turns out I DID indeed get a virus or infection of some kind. My DH got it cleaned up after hours and hours of work, but I just thought I'd post and let you all know what happened to me. I'll probably make a new topic on the subject, as well, because I sure don't want this to happen to others.

To ajpadillo: It may be entirely an unusual coincidence that this happened when I was on your web site. It may be, however, that something has been imbedded into that pdf file unbeknownst to you. You might want to get someone to check it out. Viruses are no fun at all.

ajpadilla 05-28-2010 11:22 AM

Truly sorry this happened to you, but this is a coincidence. I don't know if you had something else open at the time, but I can assure you we have not one, or two, but three different filters on our each of our computers and on the server where the website is hosted. In any case, we have also double-checked and verify this file is completely clean. The problem you experienced came from some other source.

HTH--Hope this Helps.

Because UFO (Unfinished Objects) has a double meaning - whereas UFP does not. Never heard of UFP sightings. lol Theoretically, it should only be a UP because "unfinished" is one word.
