I'm saving fabrics for a bride's bouquet & figured I could use a jelly roll for that, too....any thoughts?

I am not sure what that pattern is. I know Aggi has made her own jelly rolls by cutting 2 1/2" strips for quilts out of fabrics she put together. It doesn't have to be bought and a distinct collection. As long as you can use a 2 1/2" wide strip to cut your pieces you are good. There is some kind of special template I was reading about especially for jelly rolls. Kind of expensive though. I think it's supposed to give you more shape variety. Like the triangle has no tip so you get no dogear either. I'll try to get some pics of mine posted soon.

I am so glad someone asked that question. Had no idea what a jelly roll was. (sounds like something you eat) Love to see some quilts made with them.

You crack me up. I'm giving myself the rest of summer to get the grandma's flower garden blocks finished (and may not even make that deadline)....but I'll continue my wishful thinking until school starts up again! :lol:

Hmm well I can tell you how I figured out size issues at least! I made a scrap block to test out my pattern and see what size the pieces needed to be cut at so there would be as little waste as possible. I have all the colors picked out for each block and all the pieces cut out for each. Each block is in it's own little ziploc bag and marked by row and number so it stays in order. Then when I get 5 minutes together I can easily do a couple and pop them right back into the bag. I'll give ya a sneak peak :)

Jelly rolls are like charm packs. But instead of one 5" square of every fabric in a line, you get a 2 1/2" X WOF of each fabric. They are then rolled into a jelly roll shape and tied. There are lots of patterns out there to make quilts with jelly rolls. This web site has lots of jelly rolls and patterns. Thought you might like to see them.
