Ok, so somewhere on here I heard that you need to use like quality fabric when making a quilt with batik fabric and non batik, so my question is...
Is Timeless Treasures a good quality fabirc to use? I have been searching for a black marble with a hine of blue in it for months and have found one at thousands of bolts, but would hate to buy it and not be able to use it for this quilt as funds are low right now and I really need to make this quilt as it has already been promised. I wouldn't be so unsure if I could feel it, but my computer just isnt that cool yet ;) Anyway, I know many of you have bought from them and would be able to tell me if its good or not. Thanks....

Timeless Tresures makes a very high quality Batik and non- batik. DO PREWASH !! Many of the batiks I have purchased in the last few years ...run like crazy. It does not matter who the manufacture was ... Hoffman, Moda, Robert Kaufman .... Prewash and or treat with Retain. The deeply colored Batiks are the worst at running. I was going to make a quilt with all deep jewel tones... and good thing I tested first or I would have just cried when the quilt was done. Every single piece ran ( and there were pieces from just about every major compnay).
Once a quilt is finished use Synthropol in the wash .. .just incase the running was not quite done.
Do not beleive that once washed and machine dried that the heat from the dryer and iron will finish setting any dye.... I do not know why the manufactures can not improve this ?!

I have bought timeless treasures batiks and they are fine. I don't sew with batiks anymore because I am a hand quilter and they are extremely hard to hand quilt through.

Timeless treasures is wonderful fabric, both their batiks and non batiks. Go for it! Be advised that Thousands of Bolts requires fabric bought in one yard increments unless you are buying a remnant or fat quarter.
