If you have one, do you use it often or wish you hadn't spent the money on it? Do you regret getting the small one vs the large? Another "gadget" that intrigues me but I do wonder if it's a good investment. Thanks for your thoughts.

If you have to wonder if you will use it then I'd suggest not buying it. As soon as I heard about the fabric die cut machine I had to have one. I didn't have any doubts at all. I was ready to buy the Studio but then I heard the smaller portable Go would be available so I pre ordered it months before it was ready to sell. It is as important to me as my sewing machine. I can always hand sew the perfectly cut shapes together.

just search accuquilt, accuquilt Go, GO baby, die cutters, etc..

there are MANY options out there..and they have ALL been discussed on this forum many times over.

IF you think you really need a "shape" cutter, then do your homework, do not jump on the GO just because you heard it was fun...they are ALL fun...that is the point..to have fun doing what you love! BUT, they are also ALL very costly..dies are really costly..so you need to know which cutter/company is going to give you the best you can buy for your money!

I am biased with Sizzix/Ellison. I honestly believe their products are for more superior to anything Accucut has ever produced. and I have been using/comparing for more than 15 years...

It is a great investment for me. I may not use it all the time, but it does save time when I do.

Same here...I've actually been using it for others...i.e. I join allot of the swaps and sometimes include some precuts...for my partners...

I don't personally own one. I don't have a need for it because I don't mind cutting out my own shapes. But I could think of a few reasons for maybe getting one.

*If you had arthritis in the hands or something else that would make it difficult to rotary cut or use scissors.
*Were making quilts that require a lot of the same pieces.
*Not accurate with cutting (rotary or scissors)
*Save time by not cutting out the shapes yourself.

Since I have recently joined this group I do not know where "old discussions" of subjects are...so I will comment on the current inquiry about die cutters....I have a GO - since Dec. of last year. I thought about it before purchasing, looked into other makes, models, etc., and decided for what I wanted it for that was the best offering. I do like the accuracy of the cuts; it has helped me cut down on the scrap stash....by allowing mass cutting of odd shapes of fabric into now workable pattern pieces...in a lot shorter amount of time than rotary cutting,one has to think about the over-all advantages/disadvantages of the machines and then make a choice. Isn't that the case in most things in life...and sometimes we all make an oops!!!
