I have been reading on the accuquilters-yahoo group that some people are having trouble with the accuracy of their cuts. A few people have stated that one side of the square is 1/4 inch off. I was wondering if any one on the board here has had problems. I just got mine and have been anxious to use it. Now I am afraid I am going to mess up my fabric. Today I cut 1 1/2 inch strips and all was well. I'd appreciate your thoughts and ideas. Thanks.

practice on scraps. if you don't have any large enough, buy a dirt-cheap flat sheet somewhere and practice on that.

My understanding is that the problem is only with square dies in the largest sizes. The 5-inch square die is the popular one that has this problem on both the Go! and the studio. Personally, I think it has to do with the fabric stretching under the roller. The smaller dies are rolled through at an angle, but the 5-inch die is too big to be rolled through at an angle -- at least on the Go!. My bet is it can't be angled enough on the studio.

I bought a Go! for my sister that we haven't had a chance to use yet. I'm just not going to buy the 5-inch die; we can rotary cut 5-inch squares. All of the other dies appear to be very accurate.

Im happy with mine...
I think it is the fabric stretching while going through the roller.
Do as they suggest, press and starch the fabric.
I also don't cut more than 4 layers.

I really love mine! But you do have to watch how much fabric you try to cut at one time or it stretches. I have the 2 1/2" strip die that I just used the other day and it was so fast and accurate....

The only problem I've had is with the 6 1/2" die that makes half square triangles but I didn't starch the fabric first and it stretched the bias....
