I just finished my second free motioned baby quilt (the first one was over a year ago). It turned out pretty well I think. Anyhoo, there is one problem tho -- it looks like the bobbin thread "threw-up" creating a little nest/glob on the back. It is definitely not a loose tail from starting or stopping. I've tried picking at it but can't untangle mess. I have no idea what I should do to fix it -- pick it out and requilt that tiny area? Are there other, better options?

I can't tell from the picture how long the loops are, but if you clipped one in the middle of the loop is there enough length that you could tie a tiny knot and then clip what is left as short as possible. I would think the only need even to do that is so that nothing catches in the loop while using the quilt.

Take that section apart. Go a few stitches past the start, and take a few tiny stitches to secure. Make sure the old stitches are completely anchored too. stitch the sectionand stitch past the end of the old part. Take some more tiny stitches again to secire that end, securing also the old end. That should be enough.

I agree take a few stitches ahead and behind out and your little nest and simply restitch that small section no one will ever no my pfaff has a tie-off function and I can make a stitch over the previous sewing and tie the stitches off to stop them form unravelling, but otherwise just do a small hand knot and that will hold everything in place

Mine does that occasionally too...I take that part out and restitch as detailed above.

It won't take long to "unsew" those few stitches and the nest. You'll be so proud of yourself once you're done. Now, "git 'er done" and let us see that precious quilt.
