Has anyone ever used crocheted afghans for batting? I have heard of people using old blankets. Just wondering...

I don't think it would work...too many uneven surfaces..
I think it would be horrible to try to quilt.

ditto that...just can't see it...not smooth enough!

Old blankets - yes, but I'd say no to using an afgan.

I agree, it might be a little 'bumpy'.

You might be able to tie it but I have to agree it would be bumpy.

ditto ... uneven, and also, too much give and take in the knitting/crocheting.

After doing the work of making a quilt ... use a batting that is not going to take away from the work you have done!

Yeah I have to agree with everyone on that, I would think it would be too lumpy and bumpy and not comfy :-)
