I am currently on a mission trip to Malawi, and a friend told me about a fabric wholesaler-well of course I HAD to check them out! The African prints are colorful and come in 3 yard pieces- at just under $3 per PIECE!!! So over 50 yards later, I still only spent $48. I hope I get to go back one more time, and then I will have to figure out what to do with it all. Much of it comes into that "too pretty to cut" category. I will add pictures when I get home, in about 10 days, as the internet conection is slow and unreliable.

Post pictures????

Yeah! Post pics. I'm so jealous! :XD:

OMG. What great deals. I can't wait to see the fabric.
|
WOW! Buy all you can and sell me some when you get back!
|
Awesome, let me know if you want to sell some. I've been waiting for a friend in Tanzania to send me fabric. She's wanting to have someone coming to the states to sent it with them rather than mail.

Where in Malawi? I've been to Lilongwe a few times for work and that sounds like a great side trip for my next visit.
Cheers, K |

The store is called Mpasa, I think, in downtown Lilongwe. I am not going to get enough to sell to you guys as I did not bring enough cash. Sorry, didn't know I would have such a great find. But I will post pics when I get home. Some of you might find some of this fabric in a fat quarter swap, or a doll quilt in the future!

Check out the book Moon Dance by Cary Flanagan. It's great for those "hate to cut it" fabrics.
