HI all, I'm usually just a looker on here but I need some ideas for a friend of mine who has been asked to make a wall hanging for a Agriculture show that will be auctioned off at the end of the show. She needs ideas. This is such a creative group I'm hoping you can help me.

A red work or blue or better yet a Green work with the flowers around your area.

When it comes to specific themes like that I always thing of embroidered blocks. I have done a couple of John Deere tractor themed quilts and are always very popular and make a lot of $$ out of them in raffles and auctions.
If you or her have an embroidery machine just get a few motifs and use them for the center of the blocks. They get so much attention that it doesn't require much around, just something simple with green and yellow. Maria |

I have seen fabric with fruits and veggies on it. Maybe a jar quilt using those.

If you want to go the traditional route, Corn and Beans is a great block to use.

Our guild challenge this year is to make a quilt / wall hanging with the theme "Our Farming Community," so I'm making a Log Cabin quilt with a Straight Furrows setting. I guess you'd have to know about quilting to know the connection to agriculture, though!

I am a north dakota farm girl so I do know that. In fact that is one of the suggestions I gave her. :D I'm going to get a pic of it when it is done to show you all.
