I think I'm being dense. I want to make a quilt using this tube quilting technique. I have 3 fabrics, and want the quilt 10 rows long. But, the last fabric strip is the same as the first fabric strip. I don't see how I can sew those together.

If my fabrics are represented by a, b, and c, my rows are

b
c
a
b
c
a

I can't sew the first "a" with the last "a" to make the tube. What am I missing?

Sorry. you can't have 3 fabrics in 10 rows evenly spaced. Mathematically impossible. Either drop down to 9 rows, or deal with the fact that your last 4 rows will be abac.

I don't care that what the rows will be (abca). But, I'd like to use the tube technique, and sew the last row to the first row, and then cut the tubes. Can't do that.

That is confusing. I agree you could do 9 rows, or 12 rows. If you want 10 rows you could use 5 fabrics, abcdeabcde.

Maybe do a couple of extra rows and then after you've sewn them and cut them, remove two of the blocks from each row.

Or just add a new color altogether for an accent color in the 10th row.

This is essentially what I have decided to do. Won't be as quick, but I'll get it done. I've made them before, but always with 5 fabrics. Lesson learned.
