Almazuelas - Block # 1: El molinillo (The grinder)

To begin let me explain what Almazuelas = Almazuela is a blanket, clothing or fabric, in general, fashion built with more or less rectangular pieces of other textiles for reuse. How interesting! I was able to get what is apparently the first page.

I looked at the blog but couldn't quite figure it out. I would love to try it, how big do you cute the strips and how big is the block and how do you draw the grid to applique on? It doesn't look to hard I just need the dimensions of everything.
They are beautiful. Seems I've seen something like it somewhere.

The blogger used 5 cm squares and 3 cm strips. If you prefer to use inches then convert to the easiest measurement. Try 2 inch square and 1.5 inch strips. If I understood correctly, one quadrant is 15 cm square which is about 6 inch square. So 4 quadrants put together would be about 11 inch square?
