Is this for a quilt label? a gift card? or ?
Perhaps give us a little more background and detail, to help our creative juices flow!

There are lots of websites that you can search for quotations by subject or author. These two are good.

Memories are for when you want to re-live the best of times, for a life time.

So simple and yet it says it all. Thank you very much. Yes I would like to make a label for a quilt.

mommamac 09-01-2011 04:51 AM

the best thing about memories is making them

Carol J. 09-01-2011 04:56 AM

When this you see,
Remember me.

I have seen this on quilt labels many times.

I am living a lot of memories today, my youngest son would have been 40 years old today he passed away in Dec of 2009 but his father (my husband of 41 years) passed away on this date in 2007 so there are bitter sweet memories today

In Honor of {...} who led a life worth remembering.

Quilted to warm the body, while memories of {...} warm the soul.

These are some I saw and remember from when my mom died last December, and keep on a piece of paper by my desk...

One need not be a chamber to be haunted; one need not be a house; the brain has corridors surpassing material place.
~Emily Dickinson, "Time and Eternity"

To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.
~Thomas Campbell, "Hallowed Ground"

And my favorite:
"Don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened."
Author: Dr. Seuss

Thank you, will look at this site. Thanks everyone for all of your help, I appreciate it.

Little bits of fabric, sewn into a quilt. Form a warm & loving blanket from which memories are built. Then when you seek peace & comfort, in the middle of the night...it will keep you warm & snug until the morning light. And if you're feeling lonely, or if you're feeling sad, just wrap yourself inside this quilt, and things won't seem so bad.

:-D

sueisallaboutquilts 09-02-2011 04:22 AM

Ellageo- I LOVE THIS!!!

klarina 09-02-2011 04:28 AM

This has nothing to do with memories, but i love this phrase and i put it in things i have done for my dear ones:

When counting my blessings,
I always count you twice!

Lady-T 09-02-2011 04:28 AM

"Memory is way of holding onto the things you love,
the things you are, and the things you never want to lose."

Memories are a gift from God.

God gave us memories so we could have roses in December.

Jean, sorry for your losses. Hugs and prayers coming to you.

Doreen 09-02-2011 07:43 AM

I recently made a quilt for an aunt, who has livd on the beach most of her life. I Googled a phrase and it came up with the perfect line regarding "life on the Beach" It brought tears to her eyes when she read it

Grandma Libby 09-02-2011 08:17 AM

Oooho, those are good ones for labels. One of those should do it, then if you need it just for a label.

Sorry for your loss: here is a short quote for you:
"To live on in the hearts of those we love is not to die."
(From a tombstone of a distant relative who died around 1915)

Lady-T 09-02-2011 09:03 AM

My personal favorite....

"A loved One is not gone, until they are forgotten;
And to Live in the Hearts of those left behind is to Live Forever!"

Johanna Fritz 09-02-2011 09:04 AM

What We Keep In Memory Is Ours Unchanged Forever

Treasured Memories Keep You Near

Loving Memories Last Forever

At The Going Down Of The Sun, And In The Morning We Will

Memory Is Life's Sweetest Gift

To Live In Hearts We Leave Behind Is Not To Die

Never Will Your Memory Fade

But The Memories Last Forever

This Song Is Ended, But The Melody Lingers On

Too Well Loved To Ever Be Forgotten

Fond Memories Linger Every Day, Remembrance Keeps them(or him/her) Near

Johanna Fritz 09-02-2011 09:07 AM

HAD to add this one: from a Carolina Quilter added to a quilt label she put on a quilt given as a gift:

"May all of your lifes ups and downs happen underneath this quilt"
While somewhat bawdy, it was met with appreciation!" ;-)

Grandma Libby 09-02-2011 09:07 AM

Now a personal favorite of mine, too. You all did GOOD. These are good quotes.
