another? from tapper

Hello to all my quilting buddies out there in cyber world! I hope things are going well for all of you.

I have a question about the actual quilting. If I have a pattern that has a star inside a quilting block, how do I make the star stand out? Do I outline the star by quilting a quarter of an inch inside or outside the star?
I guess what I want to know is how to make an area POP? Should the quilting be inside or outside the area?

Thanks to you.....from tapper.

Outline the star by SID then quilt outside of the star with close meandering or some other background fill. This should make your star pop.

I agree with nycquilter. Here is a pic of one I did this way. As you can see I am a better quilter than picture taker.

Many thanks nycquilter and Kat Sews. I think I have a handle on it now.

I hope you both have a great day.
From a grateful...tapper.
