So far, so good. I am done with the quilt top. It looks gorgeous. After I read on this board that one of the most important things in quilting is accuracy, I ripped out a couple of seams and made them fit perfect and believe me, this quilt top looks great, all seams matching. I am soooo proud. Thanks for the help.

Now my next question is....

1. I am wondering, once I am ready to quilt it, should I only do SID on the seams with a straight stitch or I read somewhere that it is easier to do a rounded zig-zag so that it is easier to keep the line straight

2. Also, I am planning on FMQ the border but I recently saw a px in a magazine where not only the border, but the sashing and parts of the tee-shirts were FMQ. It looked good, but I still think I would like to stay away from FMQ the tees. I kinda think I should FMQ the sashing. Any input on this?

I use a wavy stitch when I stitch in the ditch. It helps cover and wobbles I may have.

I do this also, especially if the quilt is going to be used a lot - sleepovers, on the floor watching TV and playing games, etc. It helps make the seams more durable.

I made a t shirt quilt for my husband about 10years ago and it has survived much use and washings. I hand quilted sparsely in the blocks I had hand painted them and by machine in the andborder. and the sashing .I have also seen t shirt quilts tied in the corners and this looks.good.

Just be careful if you FMQ on that rubbery stuff sometime used on the designs of tshirts. My machine HATED that stuff. I finally started going around it. I like the wavey line idea as well as FMQ in the sashing and borders. Good luck, cant wait to see the finished product.

I just finished my tee shirt quilt top, i shased into the same width but the height of the sections are all different sizes. I can quilt the vertical rows and manuver around the odd sizes but what about the tee part, some of them are rather big and the batting say 10" maximum. how can i quilt on the tee part without going in to the logo or writting?
