I have very little ability to "see in my head" what something is going to look like. I am working on Drunkard's Path blocks (wedding ring variation). I had the bright (?) idea of taking a digital picture, printing multiple copies, cutting them out and laying them together. Success, I now have a better idea of how it is going to look

Apologies--ink is low in printer so this isn't very clear.

Rachel, That's a terrific idea.

I use the computer when I need help with the color value. In fact, that's what I was doing this morning. I take a picture of the fabric I want to use and download it. Next open it up and convert it to a black and white photo. It's amazing! What I thought was light really reads more medium and one that was medium had to move way over to the light side.

What would our great, great grandmother's think?
