According to the listing, this rug (and the others up for sale by this person) was made about 190 years ago - these rugs are gorgeous! I contacted the seller, they'll have one up soon in the Bow-tie pattern. Can't wait to see it!

That is beautiful. And it really doesn't cost much. I say grab it.

I'm anxious to see the Bowtie rug, but those three rugs up there are beautiful - can you imagine making something like that, so long ago, knowing people were going to walk on them? Yet here they are today, almost 200 years later and they look like they were just made!

I'd be a little wary of rugs which are purported to be that old but show no wear. I looked at the photos and the only one that looks even a little worn is the one with the roses. IMHO they just don't look as old as the seller is claiming.

I can see some wear, I also asked them to send me a close up shot of a particular area, asked a few questions. From what I got back, I'd say they were honest about the history of the rugs. People took better care of the things they owned back then, so it's not strange they'd be in good shape for the age, just good fortune for them that their folks have asked them to sell them at a time when more people can actually see them. I think the one with the roses is beautiful, especially the last photo they posted of it. They obviously know something about taking good photos, did you see the phootos of the jewelry they're selling? Great photography!
