Hi,I have got to go ahead and get a serger, soon!! Does anyone own one of these, how do you like it? Also if anyone has another model/brand and you love it or hate it LMK so I know whats good and whats not, it would be for sewing alot of childrens clothes :)

I like my old 4-thread Bernina serger; however, if I were to buy a new one, I would really want 5-threads because of the cover stitch (great for hemming t-shirts!). Isn't the Viking a 5-thread and the Huskylock a 4-thread?

the 910 is a 4 thread and the 936 is a five thread, its such a price jump though, like 400.00 difference, grrr I do not know what to get, I am attracted to this one b/c the computerized settings, but I really want one to do a cover stitch and convert to a rolled hem easily KWIM?

Have you considered other sergers? I'm not up on all the latest features, but if I were in the market for a serger today I'd really want the cover stitch and maybe jet air threading. What are computerized settings?

I have the 936 and LOVE IT! I traded in a 2 year old "jet air" for the 936. Yes converting from cover stitch to rolled hem is not as easy as other machines but I wouldn't give up my 936 for the ease.

I can use any thread and do several design stitchings or anything else I care to do. This is why I did the trade in. Trying to use specialty threads in the "jet air" just was too much of a hassle.

Once you get the hang of it the 936 is a snap to thread correctly on the first shot. I've had mine for a year now and have not had one single problem with it. When I got my 936 I did buy the "work book" The manual is very explanatory and along with the work books you'll be a master as serging in a snap.

I have the 936 too and I love it. I never have a problem with it and there is so much you can do with it.

I bought the work book and took a few classes (they were free).

It was worth the extra money to me.

I too have the 936. I had an old 1980's serger that died and I decided to get the 936. I just love it - very versatile and lots of types of stitches. Works like a charm. Good luck in your choice!!
