My father-in-law passed away several years ago, and I kept all of his button-up shirts, which he wore daily. I had the idea of making two quilts with his shirts, one for my husband and one for my husbands' brother.
I have one more quilt to make, then will finally start with these two quilts. Does anyone have any pictures, or ideas of what pattern I could use with his shirts? Thanks! Jodi |
Bonnie Hunter does those kind of quilts.I know she has a web sight.

I make memory quilts also, love to cut my squares, utilizing the pockets, shirt fronts (sew opening closed either by machine on the original seam, or from underneath) I also like to fold the arms and sleeves into the block and top stitch them on as well. Gives the quilt a little bit of depth. I also block the squares with iron on stabilizer if the fabric is has stretch or if it's a thinner well loved fabric.
This is a throw size with some of my sons baby cloths. |
