So I have decided I need a frame I can quilt on and space has been an issue. I'm currently spray basting my quilts using a grace z44 hand quilting frame, then I take the basted quilt to my easy quilter frame and use my bernina 165 to quilt it. So as you can see this is no easy task so I have rearranged my garage to allow more space. Yes, my quilting has taken over my home! Who's hasn't. Anyway long story short, I want to spend my money wisely and get a decent set up. Any advise?

There is likely to be someone with this setup on the homequiltingsystems group at http://groups.yahoo.com . They have a lot of information in their files section too.

Yes, do go there, they have loads of info and that is partly how I arrived at purchasing a Fun Quilter by Nolting.

I have had my Juki for a few years and loved quilting on it. It was a pain moving those queen size quilts though so this year I invested in a Grace frame. It was the best thing I could have done. My first quilt on the frame was a queen size and it was so much easier. Someday maybe I'll be able to get a machine with a larger throat but if not this setup works great for me. I love mine.

I have the LGII and the Juki 98Q. I've only done one baby quilt on it so far, but really liked doing it. I got it last fall for my birthday/Christmas. I had been just practicing and then got brave and tried the quilt. It was fun. I do have the Sure Stitch Regulator and the upgraded carriage, and I heartily recommend both. I tried it with the wooden carriage and couldn't make good circles or curves because even though it was put together tightly, it had a bit of wobble. The upgraded carriage is metal and made such a difference I couldn't believe it.

I haven't tried a larger quilt but I will be. I know I'll most lightly have to turn it to finish it, as it will be either a queen or full and rolling the whole thing up to finish would leave such a small area. I turned the baby quilt 1/4 turn to do the borders/sashing and it wasn't near as hard as I thought it would be. And the machine stitches wonderfully!
