I have a leather purse that, instead of straps, has two clips on it that clip to belt loops on my jeans. It has been wonderful for motorcycling 8) ....but since it is leather and has the studs and fringe, etc. on it, it just isn't suitable for day to day use. I would love to make one like it and quilt it, but I'm just no good at looking at something and knowing how to duplicate it, so I've been on the hunt for a pattern like it that I can follow. I really love it, because of the "hands free" nature of it. It's similar to a fanny pack but without the belt that goes around you. It has a zipper in the front and holds just the right amount of things for a day of shopping and such.

Have you ever seen such a pattern?

Thanks thimblebug. These are different than mine, but the same idea applies. These may be easier to duplicate than my leather one however.

Wouldn't a small purse pattern with a top zipper work, if they had loops on the sides where the handles are attatched? Or a fanny pack pattern with loops sewn in where the belt straps usually are placed, for your clips?
I bought a cheap fanny pack at the dollare store and cut it apart for the pattern

Something like this maybe? (second one down) http://peacockpatterns.com/store/page1.html

amma - duh - I never even thought of that.

ghostrider - yep - this would work out really well for what I want.

Thanks!!

Even simpler, if you find a fanny pack you like, cut the straps leaving them just big enough to sew them into loops and attatch your clips to them  :D
