I am particularly looking for the "C4" block, which is a tic-tac-toe block in a hexagon. Anyone have any ideas where to find it? I would hate to pay $20+ for the book, when I just want one block... lol! Thanks for the help ladies and gents!

Hello! Right now there is a DJ block exchange happening on the swap page. Some of the other members have posted different tips and resources to make the DJ blocks. I don't know if this block is listed specifically, but I would check it out to see what youcan find. Also, the DJ website does have tips for each block and some of them pretty much tell you how to make the block. Good luck!

C-4 looks like a stinker to make.

The inside lattices finish to 1/4 inch.

If you are a beginner, it will be an interesting learning experience for you.

Definitely get templates. And check your dimensions at each stage. If the templates match the book, the dark pieces in the center are different sizes - the four corner ones match, the center sides match, and the center is different.

I managed to draft it to look almost like C-4 in the Dear Jane book.

I'm wondering if Jane made the center first and drew the rest around it. The grid is uneven in the book - hard to draw 5/12" blocks - those would have come out "even"

I asked Klue, and her patterns are only for the people joining the swap. Unfortunately, I only want the pattern. Thanks for the tips, though! :)

You might want to try looking at this website to see if it could be helpful. Also, Have you tried to look on Quilter cache to see if there is something similar, if not that actually block?

You could borrow the book from the library. You might need to ask them to do an intra-library request if they don't have it.

I hate to tell you but the book won't be helpful for piecing instructions. She just does a drawing of the block, but you would have to break down, add 1/4 inches, etc. You can probably look at a photo of the block and go from there. Also, there is a blog where a gal shows a lot of her DJ work as she goes, and it might be there!
